Looking for a home appliance that can tackle indoor air pollution? Look no further, as we’re showcasing the finest air purifiers available in Singapore today.
Since not all home appliances are created equal, we’ve scrutinized each air purifier’s distinct features and determined whether they’re worth your investment. Additionally, you’ll learn what other customers think about them.
Before we begin, let’s examine the current prices of the leading air purifiers sold on the island.
There’s no doubt that air purifiers are effective in reducing indoor air pollution, but to find the best one, you need to be ready for the price tag.
According to our research, the top air purifiers in Singapore range from $100 to $1,200, depending on the brand. Although there are air purifiers available for less than $100, we cannot guarantee their effectiveness.
However, don’t worry, as we’ve discovered a budget-friendly air purifier that provides excellent value for money. It may be the perfect choice if you’re on a tight budget.
Like with most household appliances, it’s advisable to take your time and save some money before settling on an air purifier. That way, you can be sure that you’ve explored all your options.
1. HVAC Air Purifier
The HVAC Engineering Air Purifier is a powerful and dependable option in Singapore. Its HEPA filter eliminates up to 99.7% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns or PM 2.5 particles. Additionally, its sleek and compact design complements any environment.
The Carbon Purification function of this air purifier absorbs VOC, formaldehyde, and other hazardous substances that may be present in the air. Carbon filters are proven to absorb harmful substances through their activated carbon pores.
We highly recommend the HVAC Engineering Air Purifier due to its outstanding design and negative ion purification capability, which ensures the production of fresh air. Moreover, it features a 3-filter system, starting with the primary filter that catches large particles, followed by the HEPA filter that captures particles as small as 0.3 microns, and lastly, the carbon purification feature, which absorbs any remaining harmful substances, leaving only clean and fresh air behind.
2. Airfree P Series Filterless Air Purifier
Product Link | S$249.00-S$600
Are you in search of a portable air purifier that’s easy to move from room to room? If so, you may want to consider AirFree, a unique filterless air purifier.
Unlike most air purifiers, AirFree doesn’t have a filter that requires frequent cleaning and replacement. This makes it less of a hassle for you.
AirFree works by using high heat to destroy microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and mould, much like boiling water. It has also been shown to be effective against the COVID-19 virus.
In terms of energy consumption, it uses about the same amount of energy as a standard household fan, so there’s no need to worry about a sudden surge in your electricity bill.
Plus, it operates silently, allowing you to sleep soundly while it’s running. This isn’t always the case with other air purifiers.
While AirFree may not be the most affordable air purifier on our list, it’s actually the most cost-effective option available. Because it’s lightweight and portable, you can simply move it from one room to another, eliminating the need to purchase multiple air purifiers.
3. Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier 3
Product Link | S$258.60
Looking for an air purifier that’s both aesthetically pleasing and effective? Consider the Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier Gen 3, which we added to our list for the following reasons:
First, it comes with a 360° integrated barrel filter that removes common indoor air pollutants, including formaldehyde, moulds, and bacteria.
In addition, it works quickly, dissolving all circulating particles and substances inside your home in less than 10 minutes, providing fresher and cleaner air than most air purifiers.
Controlling it is also a breeze, as it can be operated with a remote control app, Google Assistant, or Alexa.
Even if you live in a small studio-type apartment, the compact and portable design of the Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier is perfect for you. You can place it on your desk or under your windowsill without taking up too much space.
Lastly, it was created to generate minimal noise, with a maximum noise level of 32.1 dB. You won’t have to worry about being disturbed by a noisy air purifier while you sleep!
4. Sharp Plasmacluster FP-J30E-A
Product Link | S$309.00
Say goodbye to breathing in polluted indoor air once you install the Sharp Plasmacluster FP-J30E-A in your home. It earned a place on our list due to its ability to handle large rooms.
In addition to HEPA filters, it features plasma cluster technology that produces positive and negative ions, similar to those found in nature, to break down harmful air particles. This may explain its higher price tag.
The Sharp Plasmacluster offers features that make life easier, such as alerts when filters need replacing, rather than leaving you to guess.
There’s even a sleep mode that lowers the speed and reduces noise during nighttime.
You may not need another air purifier since it can collect dust and particles from other rooms thanks to its aerodynamic design. If that’s not enough, it’s portable and lightweight, so you can easily move it to another room.
Moreover, the plasma cluster ions can eliminate unpleasant odours circulating in your home, such as cigarette smoke and pet smells, which may cling to your skin and clothes.
5. Trusens Z-2000 Air Purifier
Product Link | S$419.44
The Trusens Z-2000 revolutionizes the air purifier industry with its sophisticated design and innovative features. Powered by HEPA filters, it can transform any space into a sanctuary for clean and healthy indoor air.
One of its most impressive features is the 360-degree Dupont Filtration and UV-C Light. In addition to purifying the air in every corner of the room, it also prevents pollutants from getting trapped in the filter.
Another feature we love is its two airflow systems, which distribute air evenly throughout the room. It has been shown to be 24% more effective than standard air purifiers with traditional airflow.
Unlike most air purifiers, it informs you of the air quality, displayed on its illuminated disk. You’ll never be left guessing whether your air purifier is doing its job or not.
Although it may appear complicated to operate due to its design, it’s actually the opposite. It lacks buttons and knobs, utilizing only touch controls, making it extremely user-friendly.
6. ION PUREAIR P1
Product Link | S$299.00
If you’re on a tight budget but still want a reliable air purifier, consider the ION PUREAIR P1. It boasts an updated multi-layered HEPA filter that’s purportedly more effective at filtering out bacteria, mould, dust, and even viruses.
Controlling this air purifier won’t be a challenge, thanks to its straightforward display. You can even operate it with your smartphone, enabling you to turn it on and off from afar.
The ION PUREAIR P1 is also lightweight and portable, making it simple to move from room to room if you only intend to use one air purifier for the entire house.
While it may be one of the cheapest air purifiers on the market, it’s far from being a mediocre model. In reality, we believe it’s one of the most long-lasting air purifiers on the market, with a high-quality HEPA filter that outlasts most other units.
We recognize that it lacks special features, but given its price and capabilities, it’s an excellent value that’s too good to overlook! It would be a shame to pass up this opportunity.
7. Sharp KC-F30E-W Air Purifier
Product Link | S$659.00
The Sharp KC-F30E-W is the priciest air purifier on our list, as it doubles as a dehumidifier, allowing you to kill two birds with one stone. Although it may strain your budget, we believe it will be well worth it.
The humidifying feature ensures that your skin, eyes, and throat stay moist, even if your air conditioner runs constantly.
Like the previous Sharp air purifier, it also emits negative and positive ions that break down harmful particles. One of its most significant advantages is its use of antimicrobial HEPA filters.
If you’re having trouble eliminating unpleasant odours in your room, this air purifier is a good choice. Its plasma cluster technology can remove any type of odour, no matter how strong.
The only drawback we see is that it covers a smaller area than the previous Sharp air purifier, about 21 square meters compared to 23 square meters. Nonetheless, that is still a respectable number!
Despite its lack of additional features, we believe it will be a solid investment. We highly recommend it to those who don’t want a complicated air purifier and just want one that gets the job done.
8. NV488A Air Purifier
Product Link | S$499.00
Nova’s newest creation is the NV488A air purifier, which filters indoor air in seven complex stages, significantly reducing the likelihood of air pollutants lingering in your home.
Each of the unique filters targets particles such as dust, pollen, harmful gases, and even airborne bacteria, thanks to the multiple filtration system.
The NV488A air purifier has a large capacity, so you can rely on it to function for an extended period. It can purify the air for up to twelve hours, depending on the degree of usage.
Furthermore, it features a natural humidification function that can increase indoor humidity by 10% to 15% in about an hour!
The NV488A air purifier has a display and control panel that shows when the filters need to be replaced or if it has run out of water. However, figuring out which button is which can be challenging.
We appreciate the child-lock function, which makes it safe to have around the house, even if you have rambunctious children who like to fidget with everything.
Finally, while the NV488A air purifier is operating, it is almost noiseless, providing you and your loved ones with a restful night’s sleep!
9. Filtech Aero Air Purifier
Product Link | S$279.90
If you’re seeking an air purifier that’s ideal for pet owners, children, infants, and seniors, the Filtech Aero Air Purifier is the perfect choice. It boasts the revolutionary AEROTECH™ HEPA Filter, which can filter air pollutants as small as 0.3 microns.
The trademarked HEPA Filter is claimed to be more powerful than the average HEPA filter found in most Singapore air purifiers, with a filtration efficiency of 99.98%. It can remove dust, pollen, smoke, pet dander, and even large dust particles.
Removing and replacing dirty filters can be difficult with some air purifiers, but not with the Filtech Aero. Its quick twist mechanism enables you to remove the dirty filters in less than 3 seconds.
Another interesting feature of the Filtech Aero is the laser sensor technology that quickly detects any microscopic pollutants circulating in the air. You won’t have to wait for hours before noticing a change in indoor air quality.
Like most air purifiers, it does not produce any chemical byproducts when left operating for extended periods. Its air cleaning techniques do not generate any harmful ozone or secondary pollution.
Unfortunately, the Filtech Aero has a significantly shorter lifespan, lasting only three to four months compared to the average lifespan of 12 months.
10. Airion SA9500
We consider the Airion SA9500 to be one of the most potent air purifiers on our list. It employs a 10-stage filtration process to eliminate indoor airborne particles and ensure that no pollutant escapes.
In addition to the impressive filtration process, the Airion SA9500 can cover up to 100 square metres. We strongly suggest it if you live in a large house with several rooms and other people.
Furthermore, its broad room coverage makes it ideal for office environments, making it worth convincing your boss to invest in. Its modern, elegantly curved design complements any corporate interior.
Despite its powerful air purification capabilities, don’t expect a rise in energy consumption. In reality, its heavy-duty yet silent BLDC motor is recognized for its energy-saving capabilities.
If you remain unconvinced, consider that healthcare centres in Singapore, such as Vanguard Healthcare, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and NTUC Health, use the Airion SA9500. The fact that it is trusted by hospitals and clinics speaks volumes about its effectiveness.
