WOMAN GIVES BIRTH TO BABY IN UBER CAR AS UBER ARRIVED FASTER THAN AMBULANCE

Siti Halimah Mahamud ended up taking an Uber car to the hospital when her birthing pains started, all because the Uber arrived before the ambulance.

Siti, who was 36 weeks pregnant at the time of the birth, said that she called for both an Uber and an ambulance when her birthing pains began. The Uber ended up arriving much earlier than the ambulance.

Uber driver Danny Chong picked up Siti and her sister-in-law and did his best to rush the mother to the nearest hospital.

However, Siti’s water bag burst halfway through the journey. The sisters ended up delivering the baby in the Uber vehicle 3 – 5 minutes before they reached the National University Hospital.

Siti has since received $300 worth of Uber vouchers to congratulate her on the birth of her baby.

Chong, the driver, reported that he was glad he could help the mother and her child. However, he commented that he had great difficulty trying to get a local cleaner to clean his car. He ended up finding a shop in Johor Bahru to take care of the mess, although there is still a “smell” in the backseat.

Siti has since sent him a thank you note the day after her child’s birth.
