According to the ICA, the Malaysian man had been driving a Malaysian-registered vehicle through customs when they nabbed the illegal item during checks.

The man has been detained for questioning.

Airsoft guns are a controlled item in Singapore. Regulations state that the guns must be approved by the authorities, and any gun that looks too close to the real deal will be banned. Modified airsoft guns must be kept at home and can only be used for display purposes. These guns cannot be brought about in public places where such guns can cause public alarm.

Anyone found in possession of airsoft guns without a permit may face up to 3 years in jail.
