HDB: LAWSUIT SEEKING CLAIMS OF UP TO $33M FROM LOW THIA KHIANG & SYLVIA LIM

The Housing & Development Board (HDB) says it is studying a $33 million lawsuit against Aljunied Group Representative Constituency (GRC) members of parliament Low Thia Khiang, Sylvia Lim and Pritam Singh and a number of other involved parties for allegations of breaches of fiduciary duty and improper payment of town council funds” and “serious allegations of misconduct by various defendants”.

The lawsuit was brought against the Workers’ Party (WP) MPs by an independent panel appointed in February which is chaired by senior counsel Philip Jeyaretnam, and comprises senior counsel N. Sreenivasan and KPMG managing partner Ong Pang Thye.

In its statement issued yesterday, the HDB said it would ask the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) to advise on the matter.
