10 Other Things You Can Do With Your Toothpaste You Probably Didn’t Know Of

If you thought that toothpaste is only good for cleaning teeth, think again.

Toothpaste is apparently more useful than we ever imagined and all you have to do is get a little more creative and think out of the box.

Here are 10 toothpaste lifehacks that will help you around the house and make your everyday life minty cool!

Disclaimer: Of course, we’re not suggest you to buy tubes of toothpaste and use them as a substitute. After all, they’re essentially made to clean your teeth!

Remove Stubborn Stains
Lipstick stains, grass stains or coffee can be removed from your clothing by rubbing some toothpaste on the affected area and then scrubbing it together until the stain disappears. Wash the toothpaste away with warm water and launder as usual. Perfect when you’re staying in a hotel and need that shirt urgently!

If you have any personal accessories made of metal that are beginning to get cloudy or grimy, just brush them gently with an old toothbrush and toothpaste while rinsing it afterwards.

Clean Crayon from Walls
When you have an artistic child who has left their masterpiece with crayon on your walls, just rub some toothpaste on the ‘artwork’ and rub it off with a damp cloth. Wipe away any traces of toothpaste later on.

Removing Odours in Your Car
To remove bad smells in your car from a wet spot or some durians, just place some toothpaste on a piece of cloth, fold it in half and leave in your car overnight. You’ll find a minty fresh car the next morning (which means you need to use a toothpaste that has mint lah).

Remove Carpet Stains
Rubbing some toothpaste onto a carpet stain for several minutes and then sponging it off with a damp towel is one effective way to clean your carpet.

Scuff Marks on PVC
Remove scuff marks on your shoes and PVC upholstery with some toothpaste and you’ll see a clean surface again.

For Hair Dye Stains
The next time you’re dying your hair at home, make sure to get some toothpaste ready. This is because toothpaste will come in useful for removing those accidental splashes of dye you get on your face, neck, arms and ears (OMG, indeed). Toothpaste is also great for removing hair dye from your clothing and furniture.

Deodorize Smelly Hands
If you’re cleaning fish, washing your pet dog or cutting garlic, your hands can carry an odour that’s hard to get rid of. Just rub some toothpaste on it, rub your hands together and rinse the toothpaste off. A minty toothpaste will even make your hands smell fresh!

Keep Kitchen and Bathroom Fixtures Shiny
From taps to showerheads, you can keep them shiny and grime free by rubbing toothpaste all over them and leaving it on for half an hour before rinsing it off. Remember that this only works on metallic surfaces and not plastic fixtures.

Relieve Itching and Inflammation
Bug bites, itchy spots, accidental burns and pimples will all benefit from some toothpaste as it brings down swelling and inflammation. Try this if you don’t have any antiseptic cream on hand.

Now, aren’t you surprised what a tube of small toothpaste can do?
